Supermom Spotlight: Inspiring Stories Wanted

Calling all Supermoms! Candidates Wanted!

Share your Supermom Story

In my previous post, I took a departure from my typical subject matter and responded to a story about an incredible Australian woman, Deanne, who bravely gave birth alone at home. Largely inspired by this mother’s courage and shining example of innate female strength, I began thinking about all the exceptional women I have come to know in my life.

There are so many super moms and outstanding women who have shaped my own life story, and I want to give back in a way that highlights their often overlooked achievements and contributions. I am sure we have all known women like the ones I speak of, and that is why I am seeking your votes.

Who are the inspiring women in your life? Who is the silent supermom in your life? With your help, I would like to launch a special Fit4Twins series that features everyday supermoms and remarkable women who are doing extraordinary things.

What is a Supermom?

When I think about the women who have motivated this project, many of them are mothers who juggle their obligations to their families while accomplishing many other commendable endeavors. Some of them work from home, others hold full-time jobs outside the home, and some choose to focus solely on teaching their children to be dutiful, responsible, charitable citizens of the world.

But some of these women are not mothers in a strict sense.

Many of these women have never birthed a child but have exemplified the strength, resilience, innovation, selflessness, humor, nurturing and loving traits that are commonly associated with women who raise children.

All of these women deserve to be recognized. In my dictionary, these are all supermoms.

As such, I am calling on you to nominate your favorite superwomen – the caregivers and creators, the volunteers and philanthropists, the mompreneurs and innovators, the writers and artists, the healers and counselors, the mentors and teachers, the warriors and protectors, the rescuers and caregivers, the advocates and activists, the leaders and inventors, the everyday, unsung heroes who inspire others and might otherwise be overlooked.

How to Nominate Your Candidate

If you or someone you know deserves to be featured in this special Fit4Twins series, please send an email to carmen@fit4twins.com with the subject line, “I know a Supermom,” and tell us about her. Please be sure to include the following information:
